2011 FBi SMAC Awards

Voting in the 2011 FBi SMAC Awards is now closed! Thanks for your votes. We got a whole lot of them so excuse us while we lock ourselves away to count for a few weeks (not really, we have a machine that does that – the future is now!).

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on January 19 at The National Art School. The event is invite only, but we’ll be giving tickets away on air and online over the next few weeks so keep an ear/eye out. We’ll also be broadcasting the awards live on FBi 94.5 FM (and online at fbiradio.com) from 6.45pm on the day. Tune in to witness events as they unfold!

Finally, thanks to Allans & Billy Hyde Music, everyone who voted is in the draw for a Fender Squire SH Mod Telecaster! We’ll let you know via email if you’re a winner.

Hello Sydney! It’s time to start thinking about who deserves to be in the running for a 2011 SMAC Award. You might notice that we have a new look to the site. That’s thanks to FBi’s amazing team of design interns – Jethro, Andrew and Bek – and also Ben, from Okeydok, who built it for us. High fives all round.

You’ll also notice that we have a new category – Best Eats. We’ve added it because goddamn are there some amazing new places for noms in this town, and we want to celebrate them! Nominating a band, album, song, artist, collective, performer, video clip, diner, event or festival is easy. Just head here to get the lowdown on what each category covers, then here to tell us who we should consider. Our panel of industry experts will look at all nomination recommendations, then we’ll be back in December with a shortlist for you to vote for. So c’mon – tell us who you love!
