bams & ted
bams & ted is a concept-driven, periodically occurring vintage pop-up store. Sisters Rachel and Claire Fuller are behind the imaginative and playful spaces, and together they source vintage clothing, jewellery, shoes, accessories, homewares and nightwear that reference a featured character perfectly. The end result feels part film set part adult-sized dress up box. Past bams & ted collections include: Miranda (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Francie (To Catch A Thief), Jessica ( Murder She Wrote), Sebastian (Brideshead Revisted) & Spring on the Farm!
TOYS – Taste of Young Sydney
A collective born from the desire to prove what the next generation can do when left to their own devices, Taste of Young Sydney [TOYS] is about action: pushing the culinary envelope, rather than trash-talking the status quo. 2010 has seen [TOYS] present two dinners and a cocktail event so far, showcasing chefs Dan Hong (Lotus), Morgan McGlone (Flinders Inn), Mitchell Orr (Josephine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year 2010), Darren Robertson (ex-Tetsuya), Pasi Petanen (Marque Restaurant), Monty Koldrovic (Becasse), Annemarie Rodrigo (Bistrode), Tomislav Martinovic, Yu-ching Lee, & Adriano Zumbo. [TOYS] is not for the faint-hearted, with previous themes being ‘Phat’, ‘Skin & Bones’ and ‘Bubbles’.
Blood & Thunder
Blood & Thunder was set up in 2009 by Leigh Rigozzi, Mickie Quick and Kernow Craig so they could indulge themselves in the simple pleasure of printing and publishing beautiful stencil printed books and other printed matter. All their publications are lovingly printed on a two colour digital Riso stencil press that they own and operate out of a studio in Rozelle, Sydney.
Oneofour Collective
Oneofour is a collective of beatmakers based in Sydney. They explore the intricacies of beatmaking – everything from swing to bounce, from compression to synthesis – and they put out a somewhat regular mixtape featuring some of Sydney’s (and occasionaly Melbourne’s) most innovative and forward thinking beatmakers. Past mixtapes have been compiled by Cleptoclectics, Jettison, 48/4 and Peon.
Post
Theatre/performance group Post is Zoe Coombs Marr, Mish Gregor and Natalie Rose. A multi art form collective, borrowing from theatre, dance, installation and performance art, Post are “passionate about creating innovative and exciting new work”, but it’s much more fun than it sounds. If you haven’t seen their work, frankly you haven’t lived.
