2010
The 2010 SMAC Awards were celebrated on a hot, hot night on Thursday 20th January, 2011 at The National Art School, Darlinghurst.
A brand new Sydney ‘supergroup’ led by Al Grigg from Straight Arrows and Red Riders had us all drunkenly swooning with covers by a bunch of Sydney legends – everything from the first song ever played on FBi – ‘Turn Up Your Radio’ – to a special interpretation of the Divinyls’ ‘I Touch Myself’. We also heard super SMACS performances by Guineafoul, Richard In Your Mind, Ozi Batla, Jinja Safari and DJ sets from members of Halfway Crooks and Heaps Decent. Chris Taylor was hosting, with a lil help from FBi’s own Renny Kodgers.
